LLM Visual Format Reference Guide for Tactical AI Workflows

This guide demonstrates how various text and visual formats perform when communicating with large language models (LLMs) and small language models (SLMs). I rely on it for building coded deliverables for clients, designing systems, or preparing sales materials. Refer to the rankings to choose the most effective format, check the example cards to see them in action, and use the summary for quick, practical guidance.

If you have attended any of my Tactical AI for Business professional development workshops then you have probably seen how I use HTML and CSS with language models to create visual materials that communicate ideas clearly.

Some of these materials are ready to publish while others are used internally to give initiatives legs and momentum, helping build the coalition and resources needed to bring ideas to life.

Sales and marketing skills are fundamental for anyone driving initiatives because the ability to quickly craft copy and design allows ideas to move from concept to action.

For many of these tasks, small language models are more than powerful enough, lightweight, and energy-efficient. Larger models like Claude Sonnet 4.5 are useful when you need more general-purpose reasoning, but for visual layouts, internal reference guides, or tactical workflows, smaller models work just as well and are easier to deploy.

Happy Referencing!
